Around the world, the rate of teen pregnancy is on the rise.
In the ASEAN region, the Philippines has the third highest teen
pregnancy rate and it is only in the Philippines where the rate in teen
pregnancy has increased. If the future of a country lies in the hands of
its young people, what are the long term implications of the issue of
teen pregnancy? What are the implications to health and lives of young
mothers? Is there really cause for alarm?
On July 11th, the world will mark the celebration of World
Population Day and this year, the theme of the celebration draws attention to
the issue of teen pregnancy. Supporting this call, the Forum for Family
Planning and Development, Inc. will conduct a Press Conference to promote World
Population Day and to raise awareness about the adolescent reproductive health
and teen pregnancy situation of the country.
The Press Conference will be this July 8, 2013, 10AM-12NN at Annabel's Restaurant, Tomas Morato, Quezon City.
